Tuesday, September 17, 2019
6:00 PM
 to 8:00 PM

Where: 1100 Sycamore St · Cincinnati, OH

Our Talk:

Herding Cats : Network Policies For Security and Auditing Using Calico

Of course providing pod networking and facilitating service discovery are great! But open source Calico’s real super power is its ability to implement zero trust networking for security inside Kubernetes. This talk will show you the basics of setting up these policies. Equal emphasis will also be given to why implementing these types of security policies is so important to keeping our ever-expanding Kubernetes workloads secure.

Our Speaker:

Drew Oetzel, Senior Solutions Engineer at Tigera

Drew Oetzel is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Tigera and has been working with enterprise software since the late 90s. Focusing on his recent experience, he spent seven years at Splunk, honing his security skills. Two and a half years at Mesosphere, then Heptio mastering the art of distributed systems, containers, and all that goes along with them.
