Docker Meetup August 2018
Thanks to our event space, food, and beverage host Wayfair for our next Docker meetup 22 August 2018 starting at 6PM. Be sure to bring a government-issued ID to check in with security.
Our first presenter:
“Introducing Containers at Scale” – Matt Coleman, Wayfair
Wayfair, like many companies, has begun its journey into containers and container orchestration with Kubernetes. At Wayfair’s size and scale, serious consideration was given into how to present the new platform to the company, what technical problems to solve first, and where to focus energy for a successful launch and building of momentum. This talk will walk through the first few months of Kubernetes at scale at Wayfair.
Matt is a manager and technical lead within Wayfair’s Site Reliability Engineering team with a full-stack web development background. He’s helped create SRE teams in both the US and Europe, and has worked on a number of different platforms at his five years with Wayfair, including orchestration, CI/CD and deployment systems, as well as containers and Kubernetes.
Our Second Presenter:
Cody McCain is a Senior Solutions Architect at Tigera
Cody McCain carries theTigera flag in NYC where he helps customers secure all manner of things within the fabric. Prior to his current role, Cody provided Kubernetes training and implementation services at Apprenda and let Enterprise Architecture at GE Global Research. Cody has served in technology leadership roles across multiple verticals including energy, manufacturing, entertainment, and security.
