Denver Cloud Security Meetup (online)Topic: “Security and Policy-as-code in Dynamic environments like Kubernetes”Summary:
As more workloads shift to dynamic microservices running in declarative and dynamic orchestrators like Kubernetes, these expose the weaknesses of legacy network security defenses.
We will explore how to adopt network security policies for these environments in a declarative and dynamic manner, with policies that accompany the workload wherever it lands. We’ll launch a few more advanced attacks from outside, and within the perimeter, and explore some of the fundamental approaches to network security that can defend against these types of attacks, leveraging Calico to enable defense in depth with Kubernetes network policy controls together with the application policy controls of service mesh technologies like Envoy and Istio.
