Docker and Tigera Collaborate to Simplify, Scale and Secure Kubernetes Networking

You may have spotted that Docker earlier this week announced of Docker Enterprise Edition (EE) 2.0, which now includes support for Kubernetes. I am excited to share that the Tigera team has collaborated closely with Docker to bring our industry-leading networking and security technology to their container platform.

With Docker EE 2.0 users will get Calico by Tigera as the “batteries included” networking for Kubernetes, delivering simple, scalable and secure network connectivity by default. Working with Tigera, Docker has engineered an incredibly easy out-of-the-box experience for deploying an entire Kubernetes cluster with Calico in any environment – from your own data center to every major public cloud. The one-click install process includes the Container Network Interface (CNI) plug-in and support for the Kubernetes network policy API.

With the Docker EE integration, it has never been easier to get started with Calico. All the power and flexibility of Calico is right there under the hood, which will enable advanced users to leverage its full set of capabilities including underlay peering and advanced policies via custom CNI configuration and the calicoctl command line interface. Further, for organizations with more complex security, control and compliance requirements, Tigera’s CNX solution provides features such as hierarchical network policies, continuous auditing and alerting, legacy & multi-cloud federation and a graphical interface for those users not comfortable with the command line interface.

Head over to the Docker blog to read more about the integration. Then, try out Docker EE incorporating Calico by Tigera and let us know what you think!
